Welcome to KeywordSEM.com

Hi,

Since this is the first post here, I figured I’d better give a little background info on who I am and what you’ll likely see on this blog in the future… at least from a general perspective anyway, I’m sure it will grow and evolve over time in ways that I can’t even imagine right now.

My name is Martin, I live in Brisbane, Australia and I have been practicing Keyword Analysis for about six years now… there, I said it - feels such a relief to get that off my chest!

Ok, maybe that’s being a little melodramatic, but as with anything that can loosely be clumped under the banner of Search Engine Optimisation, it’s often a touchy subject due to a somewhat tarnished past SEO has played spamming the search engines.

Those days are steadily becoming a distant memory though, as more accountable Search Engine Marketing firms continue to highlight and promote industry best practices and openly share knowledge and ideas. And that’s more or less where KeywordSEM.com comes into the picture, at least that’s where I hope for it to be seen. I focus on developing marketing practices through the use of Search Engines and related media, but rather than working towards long lists of keywords and pushing them 100% towards developing better and more frequent search engine rankings, my aim is to use keywords to better understand your markets needs and drive your content requirements and establish goals… the search engine results will follow. I strive for ethical and ‘best practice’ in all of my processes, long term results are a critical focal point and I hope that when you leave this site you will recognise those values too.

There’s a lot to cover, it’s a wider subject area than you may think, and it is my hope that I can prod and poke enough at your subconscious to provoke a little more thought on the subject. The Internet is changing, we’re entering the era of social networking and that has vastly changed the way people find content on the Internet… it’s about time we caught up with it.

One quick note before I sign off - I think this approach to Keyword Analysis can be of benefit for any website, however it has particular synergies with blogging and niche marketing. Consequently, I will spend most of my time focusing on examples in those areas… most of the concepts shouldn’t have any problems translating to other scenarios though.
